Singing

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir rehearses every Tuesday night at 7:00 in the Sanctuary

The Chancel Choir of the Lebanon United Methodist Church is an integral part of the weekly worship service. Current members range in age from 14 to 83 and are varied in personalities as in ages.  A common love of singing and reverence for God binds the group together.  The music likewise can’t be easily categorized.  Gospel music, hymn arrangements, well-known classical pieces, and contemporary anthems featuring a variety of musical instruments are all a part of the repertoire.

If you enjoy singing and want to become a part of the music ministry there’s a seat in the choir pews just for you, and we would be delighted to have you join us.  The adult choir at Lebanon UMC is always ready for new members.  The weekly one-hour rehearsals take place on Tuesday evenings at 7pm in the sanctuary.  Then the choir gathers every Sunday morning in the fellowship hall at 10 a.m. for a twenty-minute rehearsal and prayer ahead of worship.

Those of us who sing in the choir feel that we are more than just a group of singers.  We share each others’ joys and sorrows, watch with pride as our young people grow, and often share the gift of laughter along with the gift of music.
