Camp Booster News

For some of you Wanakee is a home away from home, for others, you may be wondering “What is Wanakee?” Well let me tell you…it’s a special Methodist camp located on Lake Pemigewasset in Meredith, NH.  Wanakee is called the "Beautiful Spiritual place in the hills", and it certainly is that and more. Wanakee offers experiences for all age groups. Just to name a few, there is a Parent and Child Camp, First Timers Camp, a variety of Teen week-long programs and retreats for adults. Please check out their website at to learn more.

Work Day I had a great day at Wanakee on Saturday, October 8th.  I was there to help button-up camp for the winter. I helped sweep and clean the Rec Hall and I also organized the life vests down by the water. I worked side by side with some new friends from Bow UMC. We had a delicious lunch in the dining hall. It brought back fond memories when I attended "You and Me" camp with my daughter, about 11 years ago! I met the new Director James Tresner, he was a camper and counselor at Wanakee so he feels right at home. That's the feeling you get when you go to Wanakee--that you're right at home!  All the volunteers were happy to be there, giving back to a place that has given much to them, their churches and their families.
